Think back to the best teacher you ever had. Have you ever wondered what made that teacher so successful? Effective teachers, whether intentionally or naturally, follow the seven basic laws of teaching. This seminar, based on the Seven Laws of Teaching by John Milton Gregory, explores the seven foundational principles, as well as common errors teachers can make. Lots of practical and hands-on activities will be experienced.

Michelle Paxton

Michelle Paxton graduated from Christopher Newport University in 1995 with a BA in English Literature and a minor in Speech Communication. For the past eleven years, she has taught at Calvary Classical School in Hampton, Virginia. She taught the second grade for ten years and is currently the third grade teacher. She has been lead teacher for the past three years. In addition to her teaching and leadership responsibilities, she has served on the following committees: academic planning, accreditation, and art. This past February, she led a seminar at the Hampton Roads Association of Christian Schools Conference. Having been born and raised in Hampton, Virginia, she continues to reside there with her husband, Jerry, and teenage son, Allen. Their two cats, two turtles and rambunctious dog keep their home bustling. The Paxton family are faithful members of Pine Chapel Baptist Church in Hampton, Virginia.
