Location: Lighthouse Christian Academy
Position Type: Full-Time

 

Position Overview

Lighthouse Christian Academy is seeking a joyful and skilled Music Teacher to lead our students in cultivating musical excellence and Jesus-centered worship. The ideal candidate will possess both musical and pedagogical skill, a love for classical and sacred music, and a heart for discipleship.

This position includes general music instruction for lower school students and may include choir direction, ensemble leadership, and participation in school devotions or events. The music teacher plays a key role in forming student affections toward what is true, good, and beautiful through the gift of music.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach general music classes across lower and/or upper school levels
  • Introduce students to the fundamentals of music theory, sight-singing, and vocal technique
  • Lead and prepare students for performances, including seasonal concerts, smaller performances at devotions, and special events
  • Instill an appreciation for classical, sacred, and traditional music
  • Shepherd students with gospel-centered instruction, correction, and encouragement
  • Build relationships with students and families in grace and truth
  • Collaborate with faculty to integrate music into the broader classical curriculum
  • Maintain an orderly and joyful classroom environment
  • Use the Love and Logic approach for classroom management
  • Participate fully in school life, including faculty meetings, chapel, and community events

 

Qualifications

  • A mature faith in Jesus Christ, lived out with humility and sincerity
  • Bachelor’s degree in music, education, or a related field
  • Experience teaching music, preferably in a classical or Christian school setting
  • Proficiency in vocal instruction and/or instrumental accompaniment
  • Passion for the classical Christian tradition and sacred music
  • Ability to lead students with kindness, clarity, and consistency
  • Strong organizational and classroom management skills
  • Commitment to the mission and vision of Lighthouse Christian Academy
