Veritas Classical Academy, a distinguished Classical Christian school in Southern California committed to academic excellence and character development, is seeking a passionate and qualified Secondary Humanities Teacher to join our dedicated faculty.  The vision of Veritas is to create a Christ-centered community and culture by discipling students to delight, discern, and display the glory of God in Jesus Christ in every area of culture.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach humanities courses to secondary school students, fostering a love for learning and critical thinking.
  • Implement a classical Christian curriculum, incorporating classical literature, history, and philosophy.
  • Create engaging lesson plans that align with the school’s educational philosophy.
  • Foster a positive and respectful classroom environment that encourages intellectual curiosity and character development.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students and actively engage in their academic progress.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to enhance interdisciplinary learning experiences.
  • Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and professional development opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Humanities, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Majors in Literature, History, or Latin are preferred.
  • Prior experience (2-5 years) teaching humanities at the secondary level.
  • Familiarity with classical Christian education principles.
  • Member of a Reformed or Evangelical Church  
  • Commitment to integrating biblical worldview into the learning environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students and to shepherd their hearts
  • Commitment to building a Christ-centered community and culture at Veritas
