Sager Classical Academy is seeking a K-12 Music teacher for the 2023 – 2024 school year. The position is a part-time position with 24 teaching hours distributed between our Lower and Upper Schools with pay beginning at $20/hour. Teachers are required to attend school functions, professional development and administrative meetings which will usually occur outside of those hours.

Position Description Summary: This position is responsible for classroom instruction, creating lesson plans and assignments based on Classical curriculum, assessing students with regular feedback, and for communicating well with parents who are partnering in the students’ education. Curriculum and materials will be provided. The position anticipates 24 instructional hours per week plus additional preparation and grading time as needed. Lower School classes include ear training, music appreciation, and building musically literate students.

Upper School classes include leading two choirs Monday through Thursday only. Please review the link below to gain understanding of the desired vision.

Required qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree; Kodaly training preferred but not required; agreement with and support of the school’s Statement of Faith; strong commitment to Christian education and direct experience with the Classical Model of education in previous roles either as a student or teacher.

Additional desirable qualifications:  Experience teaching music preferred, but not required.
