About Lighthouse Christian Academy

Lighthouse Christian Academy is a classical Christian school devoted to forming students who embrace traditional wisdom and virtue through a robust classical Christian education so they may flourish in the world for Christ. As members of the Society for Classical Learning and the Association of Classical Christian Schools, we seek faculty who are committed to this calling with joyful conviction and academic excellence.

Our mission: “LCA cultivates students who embrace traditional wisdom and virtue through a robust classical Christian education so they may flourish in the world for Christ.”

Our vision is to educate students who think clearly, reason persuasively, articulate precisely, and evaluate all of life through the lens of Scripture—cultivating hearts and minds that love Christ and live for His glory.

Position Overview

Lighthouse Christian Academy is seeking a passionate Middle School Science Teacher to join our faculty. This teacher will guide students to explore God’s creation with wonder, precision, and critical thought, all within the framework of a Biblical worldview and the classical tradition.

Key Responsibilities

  • Teach middle school science, utilizing experiments, labs, and discussions that inspire inquiry and understanding.

  • Integrate theological reflection with scientific content to help students see the coherence between Scripture and creation.

  • Shepherd students' hearts and minds by providing Biblical, gospel-filled instruction, correction, and encouragement.

  • Foster student growth in habits of attention, order, humility, and joy in learning.

  • Plan and implement engaging lessons that reflect classical pedagogy and cultivate a love for learning.

  • Establish and maintain virtuous relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.

  • Use effective classroom management strategies, including the Love and Logic approach, to support student success.

  • Build rapport with students and communicate clearly with parents regarding academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development.

  • Maintain an orderly classroom environment rooted in grace and truth.

  • Participate in the school’s spiritual and academic life, including chapel, faculty meetings, and school events.

Qualifications

  • A mature faith in Jesus Christ, displayed in godly conduct and personal conviction.

  • A bachelor's degree or higher in science, education, or a related field.

  • Teaching experience, ideally in classical or Christian education.

  • Demonstrated pedagogical and organizational competence.

  • Willingness to support and promote the mission and vision of Lighthouse Christian Academy.

  • A desire to continue learning both within the Classical Christian tradition and in one’s academic discipline.

  • The ability to lead students with clear, kind authority and to set and uphold high expectations.

  • Commitment to building up students with both truth and grace, in joyful submission to Christ.
