Ad Fontes Academy: Head of Upper School

Rooted in Tradition, Rising in Wisdom

Join Our Mission: Cultivating Wise and Virtuous Leaders

At Ad Fontes Academy (AFA), we are more than a school; we are a community devoted to shaping the future by nurturing the leaders of tomorrow. Located a short drive west of Washington, DC, our mission is to glorify God by partnering with parents to cultivate wise and virtuous students through a Christ-centered classical education. We are seeking an inspired, strategic, and passionate individual to join us as the Head of the Upper School.

Your Role: A Call to Leadership

As the US Head, you will be at the center of our mission delivery. This role is not just about managing; it’s about inspiring. You will directly report to the Head of School and collaborate closely with other department leaders to ensure our students' development aligns with the ideals represented in our “Portrait of a Graduate.”

Key Responsibilities:

  • Faculty Development and Evaluation: Enhance faculty performance with focused professional development, classroom observation, and constructive feedback.
  • Divisional Enrollment Management: Collaborate with various stakeholders to oversee enrollment and retention through effective communication, education, and relationship-building with students and families.
  • Strategic Academic Planning: Collaborate to refine and implement the strategic academic plan, incorporating insights from faculty, staff, and the wider AFA community to help ensure systemic focus on mission delivery.

Who You Are:

  • An embodiment of AFA's core values and mission.
  • A visionary leader with experience in educational leadership, preferably in a classical Christian school.
  • A master in team management and collaboration.
  • Proficient in educational technology tools and passionate about professional development.

What We Offer:

  • An opportunity to be a part of a dynamic team dedicated to cultivating the next generation of wise and virtuous leaders.
  • A platform to exercise your visionary educational leadership in a robust academic environment.
  • A nurturing community grounded in grace and truth, where every member is valued.

Take the Next Step: Are you ready to make a significant impact in the world of education and in the lives of our future leaders? Contact our Head of School Joshua McCroskey (jmccroskey@adfontes.com) for more information and to apply. Be a part of our journey at Ad Fontes Academy, where tradition meets wisdom, and education transcends the classroom.
