In this session, I will cover why band is essential in classical education. I will introduce our approach to teaching concepts in the band room and our goals in teaching from a classical viewpoint. Additionally, I will present on our scheduling challenges and solutions as well as collaborations with other fine arts programs on campus.

I currently serve as the band director at Geneva School of Boerne. I teach both of our logic and rhetoric ensembles, including our rhetoric concert and field band. I am currently in my fifth year teaching. I graduated with my B.M. in Music Education from Berklee College of Music in 2016, and will be starting my M.M. in Instrumental Conducting in the spring of 2021. Here at Geneva, we are dedicated Christian educators who invest in the Geneva mission to provide a rigorous education.
