Science and Nature Studies in the Garden with Grammar School Children

This workshop features an historical overview of the Regents Science and Nature Center and the programs goals and practices. It will cover the methods which have shown the best results including lesson planning and leveraging parent volunteers. There will also be time for questions/answers.

Harlan Gilliam

As director of the Regents Science and Nature Center for the last 7 years Harlan has worked with classroom teachers in grades K-4 developing a hands-on science curriculum and facilitating opportunities for students to discover God, His kingdom, and themselves through Scripture and the scienti c method. This workshop will include an overview of the program and its goals at Regents, a look at the methods which have shown the best results, and a question/answer portion.Harlan grew up in the Big Bend country of far west Texas where he rst became fascinated by nature. Married 32 years to Lisa and proud father of Sophie, he continues to pursue his passion for all that is true, good, and beautiful.
