Employment Type: Full-time, We are open to bringing someone in for the Spring 2025 but our primary needs are for the 25/26 school year.

Position Overview
We are seeking an enthusiastic, dynamic, and committed Upper School Math Teacher to join our faculty. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in mathematics and a passion for teaching that integrates faith with learning. This teacher will provide students with a thorough understanding of mathematical concepts while encouraging critical thinking, problem-solving, and the development of a Christian worldview in the study of math.
Responsibilities
- Instruction:
- Teach math courses to students in grades 9-12, ranging from Algebra I to Calculus (or other advanced courses as appropriate).
- Design and implement lesson plans that align with the school’s curriculum, incorporating classical methodologies and emphasizing the integration of faith and reason.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods, including direct instruction, Socratic discussion, collaborative learning, and technology, to engage students and meet diverse learning needs.
- Provide students with a deep understanding of mathematical principles, demonstrating how mathematics reflects God’s order and creativity in the world.
- Assign homework, assessments, and projects that help reinforce and extend students’ learning.
- Grade students work in a timely and constructive manner, providing feedback that supports growth and understanding.
- Classroom Management:
- Foster a positive, respectful, and disciplined classroom environment that reflects the values of a Christian classical education.
- Cultivate a love for learning and a culture of academic excellence in students, encouraging perseverance and critical thought.
- Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the math department to develop and refine curriculum and teaching practices.
- Engage in professional development opportunities to continue growing as a teacher and mentor in a Christian classical school.
- Participate in school events, faculty meetings, and other activities that support the mission and community of the school.
- Spiritual and Moral Leadership:
- Model a Christ-centered approach to learning, work, and relationships, demonstrating the integration of faith and reason in all aspects of life.
- Incorporate biblical principles into math instruction, helping students understand the relationship between God, truth, and the world.
Qualifications
- Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field is required; a master’s degree is preferred.
- A background or coursework in Christian classical education is a plus.
- Experience:
- Previous teaching experience at the Upper School level is preferred, particularly in a Christian or classical school setting.
- A proven ability to teach advanced mathematics, including courses such as Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Calculus.
- Skills & Abilities:
- Strong knowledge of mathematical concepts, with the ability to teach them clearly and effectively to high school students.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to relate well to students, parents, and colleagues.
- Strong classroom management skills and the ability to foster a positive and productive learning environment.
- A passion for mentoring and discipling students in their intellectual and spiritual growth.
- Proficiency with educational technology, including online grading systems, learning management software, and math-specific tools like graphing calculators or software.

Physical Requirements
- Ability to teach for extended periods of time, including standing, lecturing, and moving about the classroom.
- Ability to lift and carry classroom materials, technology, and teaching aids.
