Description
SUMMARY
Telos Classical Academy is seeking a self-motivated and engaging Curriculum and Instruction
Coordinator to support teachers in delivering high-quality instruction,
Telos is a classical Christian school, serving students from kindergarten through eighth grade. As we
continue to expand, course offerings will grow to include high school-age students. Telos combines the rigor
and structure of a classical curriculum with the virtue of Christian education. Our teaching week is Monday
through Thursday, with optional Common Arts courses on Friday. Common Arts include classes such
as trade skills, outdoor education, and other recreation classes.
HOURS
This could be a full-time or part-time position, between 15–30 hours a week. Our school week is from 8 am
4:00 pm Monday–Thurs, and 8:30 am–12:30 pm on Fridays, so work hours would fall between those times.
JOB DESCRIPTION
This position would be responsible to perform the following duties and such additional duties as Telos may
from time to time reasonably assign:
a) Assist teachers in implementing our classical curriculum—helping them on an as-needed basis with core
curriculum, pacing, centers activities, and materials to engage students.
b) Evaluate teachers regularly to ensure pedagogy and content align with our curriculum, and that teachers
are strong in their practice.
c) Assist in purchasing necessary curriculum: books, maps, hands-on materials, or other necessary materials to
create a high-quality learning environment.
d) Coordinate various educational activities that will bring the curriculum to life; this would include
engaging with community organizations like Swaner Center or Kimball Art Center to create
opportunities for curriculum enrichment through experiential activities.
e) Participate in the school community including collaboration meetings, monthly faculty meetings,
professional development sessions, and special events.
f) Partner with the Dean of Students and Faculty, and the Head of School on how to best meet student and teacher
needs.
g) Attend faculty meetings and training events. Faculty meetings are held on the second Monday of each month
from 3:30 – 4:30 p.m. and trainings are held the week before school begins and once a quarter.
h) Adhere to all procedures and policies contained in the Telos Employee Handbook and Telos Family
Handbook.
i) Seek ways to incorporate the school’s seven virtues (prudence, temperance, fortitude, justice, piety,
charity, and service) into curriculum materials and delivery. This could include assisting teachers in
finding poems, Bible verses, quotes, books, or activities that align with teaching about these virtues.
QUALIFICATIONS
The minimum requirements for this position include:
Bachelor’s degree in relevant field;
Alignment with the school’s mission and core beliefs. This includes adhering to the Christian faith;
Strong understanding of what makes engaging teaching and a strong understanding of how content and
pedagogy can be improved;
Knowledge of K-12 Christian and classical curriculum materials and general standards;
Proactive in seeking ways to continually improve instruction and the quality of the content;
Strong organizational, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills;
Strong work ethic. Our teams depend on reliable availability and consistent output;
COMPENSATION
Compensation depends upon education and experience. For full-time employees, this ranges from
$50,000–$70,000 per year with a part-time schedule during the summer. Part-time hourly wages range from
$30-$50/hour.
