Omnibus Tutor

Granite is a Christ-centered academic tutorial for students ranging from K-12 with a mission to
provide an excellent classical Christian education. We need tutors who share our vision and have a
passion for seeing students grow both educationally and spiritually. Last year, Granite students were
ranked in the top 20 nationwide, according to their Classical Learning Test scores. Granite tutors are
essential to our ongoing tradition of academic excellence.

Teaching at Granite is ideal for someone hoping to teach part-time, earn extra money and join a
high-caliber faculty. We meet two days a week, Monday and Wednesday, at Columbia Presbyterian
Church. Most classes are between 12-15 students.

● Omnibus (9th grade): Omnibus is a unified class where students learn English, history,
and literature as a cohesive whole. Using primary sources and literary works our students
will consider the foundational ideas upon which the American form of government was built.
● Omnibus English & Literature (11th grade): This class is perfect for someone with a
master’s degree in English as students will be earning dual-enrollment credit from Belhaven
University. You will have the opportunity to read and discuss ancient literature while
coaching students in the process of writing formal papers.
● Omnibus English & Literature (12th grade): Building on the skills learned in 11th
Omnibus students will have the opportunity to earn more dual-enrollment credit. In this
seminar course students will read, discuss, and respond to modern literature.
