Description

The Covenant School, an independent Christian Liberal Arts and Sciences school in Charlottesville, Virginia,
is seeking dedicated and dynamic educators to join our Lower School faculty starting in the 2025-26
school year. Our school, which serves over 750 students from Pre-K through Grade 12, is a gospel-
centered community of faith and learning, rooted in the Western Liberal Arts tradition, focused on the
formation of the whole person—mind, body, and soul. Our faculty leads with an incarnational approach
that seeks to equip and inspire students to live well through service to God and others.
Position Overview:
The ideal candidate will be committed to the holistic formation of children within a Christian Liberal Arts
& Sciences curriculum, integrating faith and academic rigor seamlessly into the classroom experience.
Candidates must have the ability to inspire students’ love of learning and critical thinking and foster a
joy-filled environment in which students encounter the goodness, truth, and beauty of God’s creation.
We are accepting applications for classroom teachers at primary grade levels, K-3. We have three
sections of students at each grade level, and so candidates must be able to work collaboratively with
their grade level team.
Qualifications:

● Minimum of a bachelor’s degree (required)
● Teaching certification
● Strong ability to integrate their Christian faith authentically in the context of their teaching
To apply, please submit a résumé and cover letter to our hiring team at birdwood-
