Our faculty leads with an incarnational approach that seeks to equip and inspire students to live well through service to God and others.

Essential Duties:

  • Keep appropriate documentation of injuries/illness.
  • Gather and maintain important health and emergency medical information for students at the Birdwood Campus and make the Birdwood faculty aware of any health concerns affecting students that they may come into contact with during the day.
  • Implement health screening programs (i.e. vision & hearing screening) and facilitate follow-up care.
  • Monitor immunizations, manage communicable diseases, and assess the school environment to prevent injury and ensure safety.
  • Provide health-related education to students and staff in both individual and group settings.
  • Provide educational in-service/training for faculty and staff annually and/or as needed. Training includes Occupational Safety and Health Associations (OSHA): Bloodborne Pathogens; anaphylaxis and Code Ana; appropriate use of Epi-Pen and AED. The nurse schedules CPR and First Aid classes for both campuses.
  • Stay up-to-date on continued education requirements and all local mandates
