Description

Faith Christian School, a private, JK-12 classical Christian school nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Roanoke, Virginia, is seeking both a middle and upper school humanities teacher. The position is open to teachers who are eager to work alongside fellow life-long learners and who share a passion for awakening a love for great literature and history in the hearts, minds, and souls of students. The ideal candidate is familiar with classical Christian pedagogy. Proficiency in English grammar, punctuation, and usage skills are required, as well as the practical skills necessary to produce exceptional writing. Furthermore, applicants should be eager to integrate disciplines, to lead students to see how God reveals his nature and character through universal literary and historical themes, and to model the power of dialectic and Socratic teaching methods. A bachelor’s degree is required, experience preferred, and enthusiasm, a sense of humor, and joy a must. Send resume and letter of introduction to Stephanie Hopkins at shopkins@fcsva.com.
