About Hill Country Christian School of Austin

Hill Country Christian School of Austin (Hill Country) is an independent, Christ-centered, classical, college preparatory school situated on 54 acres in Cedar Park, Texas (a northern suburb of Austin). From preschool to twelfth grade, students are nurtured in a close-knit community, challenged to develop their God-given gifts, and encouraged to discover their identity and purpose in Christ.

In addition to Hill Country’s strong academic program, the school offers a variety of extracurricular activities that enhance the student experience. Through arts, athletics, clubs, and community service, students discover their passions while developing character and leadership skills for the future. Every activity at Hill Country is designed to prepare students for lives of impact.

Hill Country was established in 1996 as a ministry of Hill Country Bible Church. Forty-nine students were enrolled in the inaugural year, and in 2000, the first graduating class walked the stage. Today, Hill Country serves 732 PK-12 students, from over 100 area churches, through a team of 106 administrators, faculty, and staff, and it operates on a $12 million annual budget. The school has earned dual accreditation from the Southern Association of Independent Schools (SAIS) and Cognia, and it is a member of the Council of Educational Standards and Accountability (CESA).

The Head of School Opportunity

The new Hill Country Head of School will have the opportunity to lead the organization through an exciting period of growth and transformation. Within the past four years, Hill Country’s enrollment has grown from roughly 500 students to a current enrollment of 732. With plans to serve over 900 students by the 2029-30 academic year, this leader must continue to build upon a robust support framework—comprising systems, policies, procedures, funding, teams, and relationships—that fosters ongoing academic excellence while prioritizing Christ-like character development at its core.

The new Head of School will also play a vital role in providing steadfast leadership, embodying the principles of Matthew 18, and championing The Hill Country Way. This dynamic leader will articulate a clear vision, develop and implement effective strategies, and create opportunities for growth within the school. Additionally, he or she will offer mentorship to the Hill Country leadership team and serve as a compelling advocate for Christ throughout the Austin area on behalf of the school.
