Position Overview:

The Grammar School Principal is a key leadership role responsible for providing vision, direction, and effective management for the grammar school division of a Classical Christian School.  The principal will be committed to fostering a learning environment that aligns with classical education principles, Christian values, and academic excellence. This person works collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and parents to ensure the school's mission and educational objectives are met.  This position assists and reports directly to the Headmaster.  


  • Master’s degree, preferably in Educational Administration or Leadership
  • Experience in classical education and a strong understanding of Christian worldview integration.  
  • Previous administrative or leadership experience in an educational setting.  3-10 years of experience, preferably in a Christian school.  3-5 years of classroom teaching experience.  
  • Member of a Reformed or Evangelical Church  
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.  
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and inspire a team of educators.
  • Commitment to the school's Statement of Faith, mission and values.


Educational Leadership:

  • Provide visionary leadership in the development and implementation of classical education principles within the grammar school curriculum.
  • Foster an environment that encourages critical thinking, character development, and a love for learning among students.
  • Collaborate with teachers to ensure alignment of curriculum, instruction, and assessment with the school's classical and Christian educational philosophy.

Curriculum Development:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of a rigorous and well-rounded classical curriculum that integrates Christian worldview.
  • Ensure that curriculum design promotes intellectual, moral, and spiritual growth in students.
  • Regularly assess and update curriculum content to meet academic standards and the evolving needs of students.

Faculty Management:

  • Recruit, hire, and evaluate qualified faculty who share the school's commitment to classical Christian education.
  • Provide professional development opportunities for faculty to enhance their skills and stay abreast of educational best practices.
  • Foster a collaborative and supportive working environment among faculty members.

Student Affairs:

  • Implement and oversee programs that support the holistic development of students, including character education, extracurricular activities, and leadership opportunities.
  • Monitor student progress, address academic or behavioral concerns, and work with parents to support student success.

Parent and Community Engagement:

  • Cultivate positive relationships with parents, providing clear communication about the school's mission, goals, and students' progress.
  • Organize and participate in events that involve parents, promoting a sense of community and partnership in the education process.
  • Represent the school positively within the local community and promote its classical Christian identity.

Administrative Oversight:

  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the grammar school, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards.
  • Collaborate with other school leaders to maintain a cohesive and integrated educational experience across all divisions.

Spiritual Leadership:

  • Foster a Christian atmosphere within the grammar school that encourages spiritual growth and discipleship.
  • Lead in prayer, chapel services, and other spiritual activities that align with the school's Christian identity.
