Description

The Ecclesial Schools Initiative is expanding access to extraordinary Christian education by creating schools where children enter a rich learning atmosphere, engage in formative Christian practices, and receive a classical liberal arts curriculum—regardless of financial means. We are looking for experienced, skilled, and dedicated instructional leaders to join the administration of our growing network of neighborhood schools planted in local churches in the greater Orlando area.

Academic coaches have the opportunity to participate in leadership development cohorts and other conference opportunities provided by The Society for Classical Learning. Our goal is to ensure that academic coaches are trained and equipped to serve teachers in the school’s vital mission—providing students with rich and formative classical Christian learning.

Work-life balance is important to us. This is why we create margins in school schedules and limit programming outside of school hours. The work of an administrator is challenging and is at times only finished when the job is complete. However, academic coaches at The Ecclesial Schools have paid time off in addition to enjoying time off for almost all school holidays, including the week of Thanksgiving, Christmas and Spring Breaks.

We also seek to create structures and activities that foster collegiality and collaboration. As part of the academic leadership team, coaches work on projects that matter both for their own practice and professional growth, but that also support the growth and expansion of the academic mission of The Ecclesial Schools.

We want The Ecclesial Schools to be a place where children are rooted, known, and loved. We know that begins by creating a workplace—from missional work to competitive compensation—where teachers, staff, and administrators feel the same way.

Job Description

We are looking for experienced, skilled, and dedicated instructional leaders to coach our growing team of dedicated and talented teachers. Instructional coaches serve under the school dean to support teachers directly in the delivery of the school’s academic mission. The Instructional Coach is passionate about teachers getting better and more effective, children learning in a culture where they are rooted, known and loved, and parents that are informed, engaged, and delighted by their child’s learning. The Instructional Coach also serves with the school dean on the campus leadership team.

The ideal candidate is someone who holds a BA or MA and has 5-7 years of experience teaching in a classical school. We match the district school’s salary level for education and experience. The base starting salary for an academic coach is $50,500-$55,000, with benefits and matching retirement, professional development, and the opportunity for advancement.

Top Benefits

As a member of The Ecclesial Schools administration, you will enjoy:

  • Being an academic leader in an initiative that is transforming access to classical Christian education and that is contributing to the renewal of classical Christian education at a national level.
  • Missional work and a positive work environment, with a salary that tracks with the pay scale of local public schools
  • Access to a benefits package, including health, vision and dental, and a 401K matching retirement program
  • Serving teachers without typical distractions like on-line grade books, homework assignments, and technology in the classroom

Location

The Ecclesial Schools is located in the greater Orlando area, with multiple neighborhood campus locations across the metropolitan area. Central Florida is a young, dynamic, and growing area, with year-round opportunities for enjoying outdoor beauty by hiking, birding, kayaking, fishing or surfing, and for visiting the attractions that make Central Florida an international travel destination.
