A diverse, classical, Christ-centered school on the West side of Chicago

The Field School aims to feed the hearts and minds of children through rigorous study rooted in a Christ-centered environment. We exist to create opportunities for children of all backgrounds to be known and loved as they learn. We believe that all children are made in the image of God, capable of becoming agents of renewal for the sake of our city and beyond.

As we bring together children from diverse racial and socioeconomic backgrounds, our classical education curriculum invites students to embrace God’s goodness and timeless truths as they grow together from Pre-K through 8th grade.

We are Diverse
We are a racially and socioeconomically diverse school. We believe that the full expression of the kingdom of God depends on rich and diverse community. Over half of our seats are reserved for students from low-income families.
We are Classical
We are a classical school influenced by the thought of Charlotte Mason. We believe that education should kindle our hearts, sharpen our minds, and fill our mouths with praise of the God who created all things.
We are Christ-centered
We exist to glorify God and help students and their families enjoy deeper union with Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. Our curriculum, staff, and school culture are all ultimately centered on Christ and his Word.

SCL conducts school-wide surveys to provide relevant information to the classical Christian community as well as access to in-depth research with partner organizations like the Barna Group.

Research

A connected community of classical Christian thought leaders, including heads of school, board members, marketing and admissions directors, development and fundraising directors, academic deans, grammar and upper school heads, and teachers from all grade levels are here to support and encourage one another.

Community

Member-exclusive Coaching Call sessions. 15-20 online sessions each year from key-thought leaders on topics ranging from legal and operational issues to pedagogical and philosophical discussions. Think of it as a mini-conference each month!

Coaching Calls
