Good for Children, Good for the World

Company Information

Mission: Agathos Classical School, founded in 2003, seeks to serve Christian parents via the tools of classical education in teaching and training their children to the glory of God.

By the good providence of God, Agathos owns a 17 acre property about 1 hour south of Nashville, TN on a major thoroughfare in the growth corridor of Maury County, TN, the fastest growing county of Tennessee (2022-2023). Currently, its 340+ students attend school 5 days a week on two campuses: Main Campus (1201 Mapleash Ave.) holds grades PK-8 and the 9th-12th are located in downtown Columbia at the historic home church of former President James K. Polk (and family), First United Methodist Church. The school hopes to open an additional classroom building on the main campus to bring the Rhetoric school back home in school year 2024-2025.

Agathos has over 70 Alumni who have ventured into a variety of fields of study and vocations from nursing, engineering, architecture to cosmetology, chemistry, teaching Biology, pre-med, computer science, physics, classics, environmental conservation, counseling, archaeology, real estate, and other fields.

In 2019, the Agathos Mock Trial Team, by God's grace, won a National Championship at the Athens, GA national competition after winning back-to-back TN state titles.

Some of the major influences upon the founding of Agathos Classical School were Regents School of Austin (TX), Regents of Oxford (MS), Logos Academy (Moscow, ID). The school believes that a class size of 15-17 is the ideal size for carrying out its classical liberal arts program.
